Nordschleife

The Nordschleife is one of the most incredible racetracks in the world, 13 miles of undulating blind corners, long straights and... ..aw sod it, if you're here you likely already know what it is (if not, well, you know where Google is).

One thing worth mentioning though it that, like most circuits, the Nordschleife itself can operate in a variety of different configurations - but here we're concerned only with the tourist circuit; i.e. the one you can actually go drive! Advice/preparation

Many people have written many wonderful things about preparing to drive the Nordschleife. I ain't gonna rewrite it all...

  Very detailed UK site with all the bits you'd never normally think to worry about but that are well worth knowing beforehand (accident procedure, cash, internet access, etc).

The noise limit for tourist sessions is 95dB - bear in mind this is less than most UK circuits (even the noise-conscious Goodwood).

Full lap videos

Many places around the net have a couple of full-lap videos. Many also have a few short clips. For the wannabe race driver, here's a list of a few of the full-lap videos we've found so far:

  Ring taxi, in a BMW e60 M5, driven by Sabine. Scroll down for the full-lap video. She slides too much to entertain the passengers but its a good vid nevertheless. The muzak is also kinda cheesy.

  A lap of the Nordschleife in a Maclaren Mercedes SLR. Fckin fast and fckin cool but, as always with Google/Youtube, the quality is piss poor.
